Greg's good work

When I talked to Greg a couple of days ago he nonchalantly told me about being called to the Battalion commander to receive some special coin. He told me almost as if it was a bother to him...typical Greg. He and a friend of his, Tony (who used to be his instructor but they get along so well) were flying a typical convoy support mission, providing air support to the guys on the ground. I can't remember exactly what he calls it when they fly overhead of a convoy that is driving on the ground, to be their eyes up ahead, to let them know if there is anything up ahead, so we'll just call it a convoy support mission for now...maybe Greg will let us know here what the actual name is! So anyway, they were flying this mission just as they would any other time. Tony was flying and Greg was talking over the radio letting them know what was going on ahead. Their Battalion commander told him that the Commander on the ground wrote a glowing recommendation to the two of them. He said in all the time he had been over there no one had given better air support, and that was the best radio communication he had ever received! Isn't that great!?! Greg has not been in Iraq a month and already he is being called out for his exemplary work. In all honestly, it is not surprising, Greg is amazing at whatever he does...he won't settle for less. But to be called out on it by the Battalion commander is special - even if you don't think so Greg. So, congratulations babe! Though I knew you were that good!
