SNOW in Killeen!

We had heard that there might be snow, though I was very doubtful...they called for it last week and even delayed school, though we didn't see a drop of snow. But Tuesday morning (22Jan) I woke up and looked outside and there it was...the first actual snow of any real amount I had seen in Texas since I was a little kid. It was falling thick and quick. The ground was already covered in a very thin layer of snow. I was so excited. I went into Sam's room quietly and whispered to her, "Guess what...it's snowing!" Sam lit up, got a huge smile on her face, and said excitedly, "Is it Christmas?" I laughed and said NO as I took her to her window to see the snow. She immediately wanted to go outside to get a better look. We grabbed Madison and got dressed for the snow. The girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was so much fun!

Our house as I was leaving for my appt in the morning.

Gathering snow for the snowmen we built.

Sam trying to catch a snowflake in her mouth.

Our snowman. This was the better of the two...so I'm not a professional snowman maker...I've only made one other one in my life, and that was when I was a little kid with my Dad and we gathered all the snow in the yard that we could get and tried to build a teeny tiny snowman (as in under a foot).

Sam licking the snowman....why? No idea!

Sam remembered that snowmen need carrot noses. We didn't have any carrots but I found a plastic carrot from their kitchen, so Sam put the finishing touch on!

Isn't he cute? What snowman is complete without a cowboy hat and sunglasses???? Not a one if you're in Texas!
